3 day First Aid at Work
 

Who is this course for?
The three day HSE First Aid at Work course is ideal for personnel who have a responsibility for First Aid within their working environment and is suitable for all levels of employee.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements other than candidates are recommended to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for taking part in practical work at floor level.

 

What will I study?
The course will include a variety of first aid procedures, along with many adult conditions and illnesses and is a nationally recognised qualification. Topics include:

  • Emergency Action Plan
  • Resuscitation
  • Unconsciousness
  • Recovery position
  • Choking
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Head injuries
  • Stroke
  • Heart Attack / Angina
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Fractures
  • Epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • First Aid Kit
  • Accident reports

How will I be assessed?
On completion of the course, candidates will be assessed in practical aspects of First Aid by two independent external assessors. All assessments will follow the guidelines set out by the Health and Safety Executive.

What can I do after the course?
Successful completion of the assessment will result in the award of a ‘First Aid At Work’ certificate. This will be valid for three years and should be renewed by attending a two-day Refresher course before the expiry date of the certificate.
