1 Day HSE Emergency First Aid at Work 

Who is this course for?
A Health & Safety Executive recommended, non-assessed course. This is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace, and also suitable for first aid needs in social and domestic settings.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements other than candidates are recommended to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for taking part in practical work at floor level.

What will I study?
The course will include a variety of first aid procedures, along with many medical conditions and is a nationally recognised qualification. Topics include:

  • Aims and Principles of First Aid
  • Action at an Emergency
  • Basic Life Support
  • Management of the Unconscious Casualty
  • Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
  • Assessment and treatment of a casualty suffering from a head injury
  • Assessment and treatment of casualty suffering from a breathing problems
  • Assessment and treatment of a casualty suffering from a heart condition
  • Assessment and treatment of bleeding, fractures, and burns

How will I be assessed?
The certificate is awarded to all candidates who successfully completed the one day course, demonstrated competence, and took an active role in all practical work and discussion. The certificate is nationally recognised and is valid for 3 years

What can I do after the course?
The Emergency First Aid course is an excellent introduction towards completing a four day First Aid at Work qualification.
